This year more than 106 students will receive Horatio Alger National Scholarships valued at $25,000 each. Recipients have exhibited
integrity, academic promise, and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. National Scholarship recipients attend, as guests
of the Association, the National Scholars Conference held annually in Washington, D.C. The Association has additional state and
targeted scholarship programs in all states for high school seniors who will be attending college.
The application and more information are on the official web site: www.scholars.HoratioAlger.com. But remember, the application opened August 1 and closes October 25th.
There will be several short essays for the student to write, including something about their own adversity that having an education would help to overcome and in what way they identify with one of the member’s stories that are presented on line.
