Odyssey Charter School of Nevada earned continuing accreditation from the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), accreditation divisions of Cognia. This accreditation action was approved by the Cognia Global Commission at its meeting held on June 27, 2024. Odyssey Charter School of Nevada has been accredited since 2003. Under this renewal, Odyssey Charter School will be accredited until June 30, 2030. This accreditation extends across the Elementary, Middle, and High School.
NWAC, NCA CASI, and SACS CASI provide nationally recognized accreditation, the purpose of which is continuous school improvement focused on increasing student performance. To earn accreditation, schools must meet NWAC, NCA CASI, and SACS CASI’s high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous process of school improvement. Accreditation is granted on a six-year term.
Accreditation demonstrates to our students, parents, and community that we are focused on raising student achievement, providing a safe and enriching learning environment, and maintaining an efficient and effective operation staffed by highly qualified educators.
NWAC, NCA CASI, and SACS CASI accreditation are recognized across state lines, which not only eases the transfer process as students move from accredited school to accredited school but also assures parents that the school is meeting nationally accepted standards for quality and successful professional practice. By being accredited, Odyssey Charter School is guaranteed that other schools will recognize Odyssey students’ credits, transcripts, and diplomas.

About Cognia (https://www.cognia.org/, accessed 10/21/24)
For more than 125 years, schools have been inviting Cognia and our legacy agencies, NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI, into their classrooms. Why? Because we go beyond evaluating school quality. We provide trusted expertise and actionable ideas that help schools continuously improve. Accreditation is the launchpad for school improvement. Based on rigorous research-based standards and evidence-based criteria, the process probes the whole institution—from policies to learning conditions and cultural context—to determine how well the parts work together to meet the needs of every learner. Accreditation isn’t about passing a one-time inspection—it helps education providers meet improvement goals and sustain commitments to better learner outcomes. Since the founding of our original agencies, our accreditation and certification have represented high standards in education and provide a trustworthy mark of quality.
