Dear Odyssey Charter School Families and Staff,
We received notice that a family member in the Odyssey Community is under self-quarantine, but is asymptomatic, for exposure to COVID-19. There was no direct exposure to Odyssey Charter School (OCS), its students, staff, or families. The family of this individual has not been on campus, at any Odyssey sponsored events, or in contact with any other Odyssey staff, students or families since the time of their exposure. Out of an abundance of caution, family members of this individual will not be on Odyssey’s campus until the self-quarantine period is complete. We are sending this notice to advise our Odyssey families and staff that OCS Administration is in ongoing communication with the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) regarding this matter and COVID-19 best practices generally. We are seeking, receiving, and following the guidelines, guidance, and recommendations provided by SNHD to keep all members of the OCS community safe.
On March 7th, we provided you with information regarding the procedures OCS follows to keep the Odyssey campus clean and sanitized. Following SNHD recommendations, we will continue to perform our cleaning and sanitizing procedures and to continue to emphasize proper handwashing. We remind families to keep their students at home if they are sick. The previous letter also provided you with general recommendations from the SNHD to help stop the spread of flu and respiratory illnesses. We are emphasizing those recommendations and further direct you to the SNHD website (www.snhd.info/coronavirus) for additional information and updates, including guidelines from SNHD and the Centers for Disease Control.
Again, we reiterate that there has been no direct or indirect exposure to Odyssey Charter School. Odyssey Charter School’s normal attendance and operating procedures are in effect. As we receive additional information, we will keep you updated.
Sincerely,
Odyssey Charter School Administration
