CALIFORNIA COLLEGE TRIP
Odyssey Charter School will be hosting a California College Trip to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Santa Monica College (SMC) on April 20-21st. On Friday, April 20, 2018, at 4:30 AM students will arrive for check-in at Odyssey Charter School’s high school entrance. At 5:00 AM, the bus will depart promptly. At 9:30 AM, the group will arrive at UCLA for a college tour. Following the campus tour, the students will depart to Santa Monica Community College. At 12:00 PM, students will go on a campus tour of SMC. At 1:00 PM, the students will depart to Knotts Berry Farm and have lunch on the bus. From 2:00 PM- 9:00 PM, the students will be at Knotts Berry Farm. The student will depart from Knotts Berry Farm at 9:30 PM to Las Vegas, Nevada. The bus should arrive back to Odyssey Charter School approximately at 2:00 AM the morning of April 21, 2018. All meals and travel expenses will be covered by Odyssey Charter School. Students should plan on bringing spending money, a blanket, and a pillow.
In order for a student to submit their application for review, they must have all passing grades (please include overview report with application) on their Moodle account and submit a completed application. We have room for 35 students. Mr. Gatto, high school principal, and four faculty members will accompany the students. The students will be evaluated holistically for the review process and ultimately the college trip. Grades, classes, grade level, attendance, post-high school plans will just be some of the factors considered. Once the list is compiled; students, parents, and guardians will be notified and given a detailed itinerary on or before Monday, April 17, 2018, so please check your emails.
