April 3, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Following Wednesday’s directive by Governor Steve Sisolak, Odyssey’s school campus closure will extend through April 30, 2020.

Odyssey is grateful that as a blended learning model our students have always had full access to the entire curriculum. We will continue offering our full curriculum and instruction to all students in the Odyssey community, Kindergarten through 12th grade.  All of Odyssey’s teachers will continue to be available to provide help to students as they work through their courses. We are simply replacing our face-to-face support with teacher contact using other modes of technology. Although we will still be working from home, Odyssey’s Teachers, Administrators, Counselors, Social Workers, Health Professionals, and Support Staff will continue to be available via Gmail and Moodle Messaging between the hours of 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM.  Staff will do their best to respond to questions within 24 hours. All Middle and High School students must complete their attendance quiz in every class, every week! Elementary students should keep working in their Moodle courses and attending their online small group meetings. Odyssey will continue implementing distance education in accordance with guidance provided by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE).

Safety and health remain our top priority.  We will continue to keep you updated via email, Moodle Announcements, and Odyssey’s website.  We hope you and your family have a wonderful Spring Break April 6-13. Teachers will also be on Spring Break at this time.  However, all student assignments will stay open over Spring Break. This will be a great opportunity for students to get caught up if they are behind!  School will resume following Spring Break (still in the online environment only) on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

Sincerely,

The Odyssey Team
