Dear Families,
On behalf of all of us at Odyssey Charter School, we truly hope you are doing well during these trying times.
During this current situation, we have been happy to continue providing education and services for your children. Our teachers have been communicating with students through a few different methods – Moodle Messages, Odyssey Gmail, phone calls, or video conferencing through Google Hangouts Meet. Google Hangouts Meet is a new method for Odyssey to use, so we wanted to take a few moments to tell you a little about it.
Google Hangouts Meet is a method for teachers to use video conferencing to provide instruction to some students. Google Hangouts Meet can utilize most any device that has a camera, microphone and the internet. If you do not have either a suitable device or access to the internet, please let your teacher know so they can communicate through a different method.
Through Google Hangouts Meet, your student will be provided with a link to attend his/her on-line instructional group along with a date and time.
Please note the following as it relates to these on-line sessions:

Please be reminded that these sessions are live on-line, on-camera so all that is going on behind you/within your surroundings will be heard and seen by the teacher. Pick an appropriate location when you participate in these video sessions and be sure you know how to mute your microphone and block your video feed if necessary.

We encourage parents to stay with your students during the video conference meetings, if you are available. It would be great for parents to be part of this educational method!
