2018 Scholarship Information
Each year Silver State Schools Credit Union recognizes outstanding Nevada students for their academic achievements and community involvement through seven $2,000 scholarships. The SSSCU scholarship program is designed for members and their children, graduating from an accredited high school within the State of Nevada in 2018.
How to apply:
Applicants MUST BE SSSCU members and applications MUST BE received by the Credit Union (at any of its locations) by end of business day on Thursday, March 22, 2018. Applications received after that time will be disqualified. The selection will be announced by the scholarship committee and awarded at the SSSCU Annual Membership Meeting on April 21, 2018. Selection will be based upon the criteria set out below. Seven $2,000 scholarships are awarded each year (Arlene Parkinson, Bart Roche, Leonard Petoske, William Moore, Terry Mannion, Harold McKay, and Andrew Hunter Scholarships) — all are renewable for up to four years. The following documents must be completed and attached to the application:
Application form with Credit Union association documented (member account number)
Copy of the student’s transcript
Recommendation letter from a teacher
Recommendation letter fro a community member or employer
Recommendation letter from a high school counselor
SAT and/or ACT scores
