Potential Promise Scholarship Students :
Currently, you are showing that your FAFSA was not processed by CSN on the Odyssey Roster; therefore, you are missing Step 5 of the Promise. You must resolve this issue ASAP, or risk being dropped from the Promise Scholarship Program. To resolve this issue, you must take a screenshot of your FAFSA showing that you submitted the FAFSA on or before the April 1st deadline, and second, you must make sure your SS # is listed on your MyCSN account. Once you have completed both of these screenshots, please email them to promisewc@csn.edu. Once you have completed these steps, I highly recommend reaching out to the Promise at promisewc@csn.edu or 702-651-7500 to verify that you are in good standing. If you have extenuating circumstances and were unable to fill out the FAFSA on or before the deadline, you can appeal it. To appeal, please call or email the Promise office at promisewc@csn.edu or 702-651-7500. You must complete these steps ASAP. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please email Mr. Smyth at rsmyth@odysseyk12.org. Thank you, Mr. Smyth
Did you get a response from the Promise that you were dropped due to the FAFSA? Please read below and let me know if you need any assistance (rsmyth@odysseyk12.org).
Mr. Smyth
We have had several students, parents, and counselors reach out in regard to the 2025-26 FAFSA completed on time but it not showing on our end. Hopefully this email can provide some guidance in addressing this issue.
As long as the FAFSA application is not linked to their CSN account we cannot credit them for this requirement. The good news is once it’s linked if the original date of submission is by April 1st student will be back to eligible and no need to appeal. There are several reasons why a student’s FAFSA is not linked, and it could be different for each student. Below is what we recommend the students review in order to fix this issue.
The most common issue is the student applied to CSN without their SSN. Without the SSN CSN cannot link the FAFSA.
How to add the SSN:
-
Login to go.csn.edu
-
Click “MyCSN” icon
-
Login and click “Student Center” icon
-
Scroll down to “Personal Information”
-
Click “Add SSN”
Other items to check that can prevent it from linking:
-
Name, DOB, SSN are incorrect, mismatching, or missing on FAFSA and in MyCSN
-
Did not list CSN on their FAFSA
-
Completed the 2024-25 FAFSA instead of the correct one 2025-26
Once any of those items are corrected it should link to the FAFSA and again we will go based off the date of original submission. We have sent emails to all students missing the 2025-26 FAFSA and they were informed to check their SSN and personal information.
Please encourage your students to reach out to promisewc@csn.edu or 702-651-7500 if they need assistance.
Let us know if us know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your continued support!
