When to begin the FAFSA Online Process!!!
Be sure to wait for the 2014-2015 Online FAFSA, available free on January 1, 2014, only at the official FAFSA website: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. The current year 2013-2014 is for college students. However, you can apply for one parent and one student PIN now on the FAFSA website by clicking on “PIN site” at the top. These two PINs will be used to electronically sign the submitted FAFSA in early January. DO NOT use the website http://www.fafsa.com/ which charges ($80) families for what they can easily do themselves.
