ES Star Notification Letter

Greetings,

Attached you will find the required Title I Parent Notification Letter for your school in English and Spanish. The expectation is that these letters are sent home no later than October 31, 2022. A copy of this letter should also be posted on your school website.

Rationale

As a result of the Every Student Succeeds Act, all Title I schools are required to notify parents that they receive Title I funds and if applicable, school designation. Designations include Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI).

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Education (USED) addendum to provide flexibility in accountability reporting requirements for the 2021-22 school year, please review the following:

NSPF Star Ratings

NSPF star ratings are not calculated for the 2021-22 school year in accordance with flexibility offered by the USED addendum for accountability. The State is required to provide index scores and calculate all indicators and measures for the NSPF to meaningfully differentiate schools. NSPF star ratings were last calculated for the 2018-19 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

School Designations

In accordance with the USED addendum states are required to designate schools for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI/ATSI) based on student performance data from the 2021-22 school year. The school years 2019-20 and 2020-21 are not included for accountability as this measure was waived due to the COVID-19 pandemic in accordance with USED guidance.
