About PSAT/NMSQT Testing

Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) testing is not required. This is an optional test available to 10th and 11th grade students. This test evaluates evidence-based reading, writing, and mathematics and is similar to the SAT.

Please note, the SAT is also not required for graduation and is not offered by Odyssey. The American College Test (ACT) is required for graduation and is taken in 11th grade. You can find out more about the SAT here: Link to SAT Information

PSAT/NMSQT Testing at Odyssey

Who: 10th & 11th grade students who are interested in scholarship opportunities with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

When: Monday October 23rd, 2023 and Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 from 8:00AM-11:00AM. Important Deadline:  The last day to register is September 30 (no exceptions), and there are only 60 tests.

Where: The Gato Learning Center, Building 1, at 2251 S. Jones BLVD, Las Vegas, NV, 89146.

Cost: The test is free for all 10th and 11th grade Odyssey students!

How to Sign Up: If you are a 10th or 11th grade student at Odyssey, you can register for the test by emailing Mr. Smyth at with your Odyssey email. Please indicate which day (the 23rd or 24th) you prefer.

Mr. Smyth will send you a confirmation email with your assigned test day and test day procedures. Please email Mr. Smyth if you have any questions or concerns about PSAT testing.

*11th grade students must take the PSAT in 11th grade to qualify for the National Merit Competition.
