Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery 

About ASVAB Testing

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is an optional test for Odyssey Seniors. This test is not required by Nevada or Federal law. This test measures students’ academic skills and developed abilities to help determine which military branch and occupation are good fits for the test taker.

The ASVAB covers a broad range of academic content (Reading, Writing, and Mathematics) a well as technical and engineering content (Electronics, Science, Automotive, and Mechanics). These test results are important for helping students interested in the military explore their options within the U.S. Armed Forces.

This test should be taken by any student interested in a military career after graduation. The ASVAB is a Career Exploration Program which assists students in obtaining the College and Career Ready Diploma. Please speak with your counselor for further details.

ASVAB Testing at Odyssey

Who: The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is designed to help you explore the “world of work” and find out about yourself. This program will help you identify and explore occupations and develop an effective strategy to realize those goals.

Career exploration scores can help you determine your readiness for further education and training in different career areas. Knowing your academic strengths and weaknesses gives you time to work to improve them before you start a job, begin college or vocational school, or enter the military.

When: January 8th 2024, January 9th, 2024, January 10th, 2024 from 8:00AM-10:00AM and 12:00PM-2:00PM

Where: Classrooms A and B, Building 1, located at 2251 S. Jones BLVD, Las Vegas, NV, 89146.

Cost: The test is 100% free!

How to Sign Up: If you are a 12th grade student interested in exploring military careers, you can register for the test by emailing Mr. Smyth at rsmyth@odysseyk12.org

Mr. Smyth will follow up with a confirmation email with your assigned test day and test day procedures. Please email Mr. Smyth if you have any questions or concerns about PSAT testing.
