2019 Odyssey Graduation Information!!!!!!

At this time Odyssey has allotted 10 tickets per family for the graduation ceremony. All guests will need a ticket to attend the ceremony. The graduate will not need a ticket. Children sitting on laps will not need a ticket. Extra ticket requests will not be accepted until the spring. Please continue to monitor Moodle for updates and the Senior Info page at www.odysseyk12.org for ticket information.
Cap and Gown Photos
Cap and Gown photos will be taken on campus the week of January 28, 2019 through February 1, 2019. Students will be pulled from the class for their picture. Students will be provided a cap and gown for the photo. All young men need to wear a shirt and tie. Students may not wear sweatshirts, hoodies, or hats in the photos. Please style your hair to accommodate the graduation cap.
Join your fellow classmates, counselors, and school principal for an early graduation celebration on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 10 am to 1 pm. There will be food, drinks and a photo booth. You will be allowed to purchase your cap and gown, purchase announcements and pick up tickets for graduation. Graduation clearance from your counselor gains you access to this fun event. More details will be posted and shared with you in April 2019.
Cap and Gown Units
Cap and Gown units are $30. The unit includes a cap, gown, and tassel. The school will place all orders for cap and gowns. Your child must complete a student card that provides the school with their height and weight. All height and weight information or changes must be submitted, no later than December 20, 2018.
Cap and Gown units will be available for pick up starting in May at Senior Saturday on, Saturday, May 11, 2019. Counselors will be checking grades at that time to verify that you have met all the graduation requirements and are eligible to receive a cap and gown. You will be given directions on how to pick up your cap and gown at a later date.
Announcements and Other Graduation Swag
Please review the packets provided to you by Jostens. All orders through Jostens must be placed by December 20, 2018. If you do not order by December 20 some items may not be available and customization will not be available.
Senior Speeches and Poetry
Each year several students are chosen to speak at graduation. This is the highlight of our graduation ceremony each year. Detail on how to submit a speech will be posted and shared with you in April 2019.
There are handicap accessible seats at the graduation location. If a student’s family chooses to sit in the seats surrounding the accessible seat they must arrive in a timely manner to occupy those seats. All seating is first come first serve.
Graduation Dress Code
All graduates should plan to wear dress clothes to the ceremony. No jeans, tennis shoes, or flip flops will be allowed. Graduation gowns look best if pressed/ironed. Hair should be worn in a style that allows the cap to fit on the top of the student’s head. All gowns must be fully zipped. Boys, your gown looks best with a shirt that has a collar.
MANDATORY Graduation Rehearsal
All seniors are asked to meet at the Orleans Arena on Monday, May 20, 2019. All seniors are asked to be in attendance. This rehearsal is mandatory. Students will also receive their senior gift at this meeting. Feel free to dress casually for the rehearsal. Snacks will be provided. Students only at the rehearsal, please.
