Video Contest Addressing Drug Misuse and Abuse for High School Students

EVERFI has recently collaborated with the Nevada DEA, Victoria’s Voice, and Kroger to develop a student video contest addressing drug misuse and abuse. This contest is exclusive to students in Clark County–increasing students’ chances to win.
Full details and forms for submissions can be found here. Below are details about the contest that align with the implementation of Prescription Drug Safety as prework:

CONTEST OVERVIEW

  • Submission: Video must be focused on the dangers and effects of misusing prescription medications, how lives can be changed, and prevention or coping strategies.
  • Length: Video cannot exceed 60 seconds.
  • Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in the 9th through 12th grade in Clark County, Nevada.
  • COVID19 Guidelines: Please abide by the CDC Guidelines.

The contest opened on August 15th and runs through November 30th. A winner will be selected each month beginning in October. If students are not selected as a winner, their submission will carry over to the next month submission pool. Of the three monthly winners, one will be selected as the Official Contest Winner.

Entries will be judged by a committee of industry experts and leaders. Submissions will be judged based on creativity, the content of the message, quality of articulation, and demonstrated understanding of the topic.
