Mandated literacy testing is selected by the government to compare a student's achievement with that of his/her peers. Understanding the differences affects the way we help student prepare. The manner in which young children think will be investigated during this workshop. Piaget's reserach regarrding child development will be discussed and then practical activites will be shared. (examples: math manipulative activities, games, and centers for science, reading, and language arts)
