Willing Workers of Las Vegas Scholarship
Southern Nevada high school seniors or current college students who are Black/African American and are actively overcoming learning difficulties,
and may have had an IEP or 504 plan in high school, may apply for this scholarship. Applicants must be active members in their local church, of
Christian Faith with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Finalists may be interviewed. Four scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded and students
may reapply.
Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must
be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.

Supplemental Questions

3. Please upload a letter of recommendation from someone who attends your church and can speak of your involvement
4. Do you struggle with learning or have a learning disability?
5. Please upload proof of your learning difficulty/disability. This could be a letter or form from the college disability resource center, a
letter from a doctor, a copy of your high school 504 plan or IEP, or other proof.
6. Please request a letter of recommendation from another adult (non-family) who can speak to your determination, ability to overcome
challenges and/or be successful at the college level.
7. Please upload a “Financial Need Letter” explaining why you need assistance with your college/school expenses.
8. Please upload your most recent college transcript.
9. Essay – 300-500 words – Please respond to both questions. 1) Why do you deserve this scholarship? and 2) What are your educational
and career plans?
10. Please upload a recent photo of yourself. (Used for identification purposes when/if we meet you)
