Nevada Security Association Youth Scholarship

Sponsor:  NSA Youth Scholarship Program

Eligibility:  Graduating Senior who will receive a diploma from an accredited high school, located within the state of where they apply.  Home schooled students and students attending military or boarding schools are also eligible.  Applicants must be accepted for admission to an accredited college or university, matriculating the following year.  Each eligible student must have a father, mother or legal guardian who is a full time active duty employee.  Parent or guardian must be a full time public safety officer (police/fire) who is a member of a law enforcement agency or a full time paid or volunteer member of a fire department located in Clark County, Nevada.  Essay, 500-1000 words – “What it means to ME to have my parent or guardian involved in securing our community.”  For application and more information please visit admin@nevadasecurityassociation.org or call Jeanne at 702-551-4NSA.

Sons of Italy Western Foundation Scholarship Programs

Amount:  Varies $500.00 to  – $5,000 and Italian Language Study Grant

Eligibility:  Scholarships will be awarded to students graduating from public or private high schools in California, Nevada, and Klamath Falls, Oregon.  Applicants must be wholly or partly of Italian ancestry.  For the Italian Language Study Grant, applicants must also have completed a foreign language course in high school.  Selection will be based on scholastic record, activities evidencing leadership, financial need, written personal goals statement, Essay of Italian Origin, and letters of recommendation.  Applications for the Italian language Study Grant must be submitted separately, including being placed in a separate envelope, from any application for a college scholarship.  Application and more information please visit www.sonsofitalyca.org

Eligibility:  High School senior.  Must be of Italian descent, a legal resident of Clark County, Nevada; maintain full time student status to be eligible for this scholarship.  Please submit a brief essay on the reason you are applying for this scholarship, how it will benefit you and any other extenuating circumstances that could help the Augustus Society Scholarship Committee determine your need for a scholarship.  Limit the essay to the space provided.  If you use a computer, your essay must be no more than one page in length, double-spaced, in 12 point font with 3/4 margins.  Please provide transcript of grades from this year, and cumulative grades to date, a photocopy of your State Driver’s license or other photo ID, and two written personal character references.  For application and more information please visit www.augustus.org

The Nellis Area Spouses’ Club Scholarship
